Enabling a European National Network to Handle Increased Transactions
Project Brief
Our client is the national network for one of the European countries. It was established in 1990 with the aim of providing solutions, resolving common problems, and developing rules and standards for the domestic credit and debit cards market. Its mission is to render the ongoing daily card operations of its twenty five member banks in a more secure, fast, and cost-effective manner from a central operation site. Moreover, it is considered the main gateway in its country for Visa and Europay.
CIT Role
The client had an older switch platform that could not handle the transaction volumes that amounted to over 2.5M transactions/day. They acquired a new switching system to handle the increasing number of transactions and to control the communication between all banks for ATM and POS transactions. Lately they upgraded the system to support EMV transactions.
